About the Role

As a Senior Hardware Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and developing embedded systems, from initial concept through production. Your expertise will drive the architecture, schematic design, PCB layout, and system integration of cutting-edge wireless and IoT solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust hardware performance, optimize power efficiency, and meet industry standards. This role also involves mentoring junior engineers, troubleshooting complex hardware issues, and working closely with customers to deliver high-quality solutions.


Responsibilities: 

• Lead the design and development of embedded hardware solutions, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and system integration.

• Own technical solutions for projects, ensuring designs meet or exceed performance, cost, and reliability requirements.

• Conduct circuit simulations, signal integrity analysis, and power management 

optimization.

• Select and integrate microcontrollers, RF modules, power supplies, and other key 

hardware components.

• Perform hands-on debugging, testing, and validation using oscilloscopes, spectrum 

analyzers, and other lab equipment.

• Collaborate with firmware engineers to optimize hardware-software interaction.

• Document designs, test plans, and technical reports for internal and customer use.

• Ensure compliance with EMC/EMI, safety, and regulatory requirements.

• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices.

• Lead and participate in project, customer, and other meetings as required, providing 

insights and recommendations.

• Collaborate with management and colleagues to continuously improve processes and

enhance efficiency and quality in hardware development.

• Generate weekly status reports to assess progress and document technical status and  potential risk of all current projects. 

• Lead client engagements independently on smaller projects, serving as the primary 

technical point of contact from scoping through delivery.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience with low-power and wearable device design.

• Knowledge of high-speed digital interfaces (USB, SPI, I2C, UART).

• Experience with hardware security and encryption techniques.

• Understanding of mechanical design considerations for embedded hardware.

• Experience with cellular IoT device certification (PTCRB, FCC, carrier acceptance 

testing).

• Familiarity with LTE-M, NB-IoT, or other LPWAN wireless protocols.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in embedded hardware design, including schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium preferred).

• Strong understanding of digital and analog circuit design, power management, and signal integrity.

• Experience with wireless technologies such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LoRa, NFC, Cellular

(LTE), GPS/GNSS.

• Familiarity with RF design principles, transmission lines, and antenna integration.

• Hands-on experience with hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers).

• Knowledge of EMC/EMI compliance and testing.

• Experience with low-power design techniques for battery-operated and energy-constrained products.

• Ability to read and interpret functional specifications, datasheets, and application notes.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a disciplined approach to root cause

analysis across analog, digital, and mixed-signal systems.

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills.


Education:

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field; equivalent experience

considered.
